Donovan s partner, Kelly Bargh, knew folks who built miniatures at Weta Workshop, Wellington s Academy Award-winning special effects company. As we shared a taxi from Wellington International Airport into town, Bargh told me about her friend who had been a stunt hobbit for a canoe-paddling scene on the Hutt River, not far from the city and near the Helm s Deep location.
